Well, folks. Another four years have passed by and you know what that means? No, I'm not talking about leap year, nor am I talking about an eclipse. And I'm certainly not talking about the FIFA World Cup.
What I am talking about are the debates for the President of the United States of America. As the challenging party's candidates go head-to-head, I simply can't get enough. I live and breathe politics during these important periods in our life.
I will admit, I don't follow politics religiously in the years between elections. I do stay informed during these years, but I don't go to bed thinking about politics, nor do I think of clever comebacks a politician could use against another politician while I make dinner, nor do I read article after article on my favorite politicians, and I don't spend hours and hours making comments on politician's Facebook pages and network websites like CNN and FoxNews. No, I don't do these silly things in the years between. I do these things now! When things start heating up again, I start heating up again too!
I'm near positive during the last race for president, I vowed that I would run for some sort of office. You know, so that my intelligent voice could be heard. If it wasn't for the fact that I have to throw up in my mouth or run to the bathroom with severe you-know-what every time I have to speak in public, I would actually consider running for something. However, public speaking and I don't go well together. And that is exactly why I stick to writing. Which is ironic, because I'm also really bad at writing. I have really poor grammar, spelling, punctuation, and anything else that is involved in writing the english language. But yet, it is easier for me to share my opinions this way.
Not that any of you care deeply about my opinion, but Mitt Romney is my man. He is a business and financial genius. He has spent his life fixing broken companies, organizations and the state of Massachusetts. He takes debt-ridden entities and flips them around to be profitable again. His experience mostly stems from the private sector but he did spend four years as the governor of Massachusetts. He absolutely is the man for the job. Seriously whether you are Democrat, Republican, or part of the annoying Tea Party, why would you vote for anyone different?
If the President of the United States were a position in a company, and you came across Romney's resume, you wouldn't care about his party affiliation, you would hire him on the spot. Why? Because your biggest problem is your debt and your ability to get people back to work.
That being said, here is a clip of my least favorite candidate:
Really? This guy is considered to be the top contender? He can't even speak. I think as time goes on we will see him drop in the polls. Seriously, the economy isn't going to get better if we nominate Rick Perry, someone who is almost as inexperienced as President Obama.
Can you hear the passion in my voice?
Here is another candidate who I like, Herman Cain. This video also includes a clip of John Huntsman.
Cain seems really down-to-earth, incredibly honest, and intelligent enough to get this country going again.
Newt. I like Newt. He also is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the government.
Who do you like? Feel free to weigh-in. I shared my opinion, you are entitled to yours.

Wow Marissa. To even open this can, it is obvious you've been missing in all the political conversations that have happened in the Poulter family the last 4 years. Zach and I, after admitting a previous preference (GO OBAMA!) will never let a political opinion slip among the family again. :D But then again, if you love the debates (which give me anxiety and the full-blown desire to punch people-any people) maybe this conversation is just right for you.
Oh. That being said. We are unaffiliated and undecided.
Oh no trust me, I do remember when you guys said "Go Obama!" It gave me nightmares for weeks! lol just kidding. I don't really care who people like, I'm more interested in why they like them. Very intriguing to me. For example, if you like Rick Perry. That's fine. Just please explain to me why because my own mind can't comprehend why someone would like him.
no, no. No one likes Perry!
i like a flat tax rate. period.
AHHHh, ha, ha, ha!!! I love this post and mostly Tonya's commentary. :)
Tonya, I am opposite. I love the political conversations in the family. I find it amusing- maybe because Jason & I have no tact & don't worry so much about what we say..... therefore making everyone else cringe?!
Love it.
BTW- during this time of the beginning of campaigns last go around, I called it that Obama would be the next Pres. Not that I agreed with him, but it was easy to see how/why people got behind him- even with 10 democrats still vying for the #1 slot, I thought it was obvious.
I love my sister-in-laws. haaaaa! ha, ha! Seriously, even more because of this post.
GOOOOOOO MITT! He is by far the most intelligent, most qualified, Best Looking, Presidential-like Candidate out there.
Everything I saw after the last debate showed that he won by a wide margin. GOOOOO MITT!
What I love about heated family debates is that we all remember them LONG after they happen. How amusing. It's like that game we played... what was it? The one where everyone but one person lies about the definitions to words. Everyone was so worked up. It was hilarious. Except, I think I may have been annoyed then... especially at comments made by a certain person that I am married to... and possibly several others. What is that game called???
I'll be the canidates would do great at it!
